Iran has introduced a number of 50 feature films to attend the 72nd annual Cannes Film Festival.
The Cannes officials will announce the final list during a press conference to be held on April 18th in Paris.
Over 2000 feature films from different countries have been submitted to compete in the festival.
The submitted films from Iran are introduced by state institutions such as Farabi Cinema Foundation, Artistic Center of Tehran and IRIB.
Among the Iranian applicants, there are a number of independent directors and producers enrolled at the event with their latest productions.
Besides, Iranian filmmakers living abroad, including Canada, Germany, France and the US, have also submitted their films to the Cannes Festival.
More than 100 Iranian short films are also offered to various sections of the event.
Last day, the Cannes Film Festival also unveiled the official poster of the famous parallel section of the festival called “Directors’ Fortnight”.
The 12-day festival will run May 14-25, sticking to the Tuesday through Saturday schedule launched for the first time earlier this year.
Multiple Academy award-winning Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu will be president of the jury to make the first Mexican to chair the panel.
